10 Questions With: Model Rob Robinson

You can’t be a plus size guy (or a DXL shopper) without knowing Rob Robinson. And you can’t know Rob Robinson without loving him - his upbeat personality and hilarious Instagram posts keep his 55k+ fans coming back for more. I chatted with him at a recent event for MVP Collections and here we are - 10 Questions:

What is your favorite part of being big and/or tall?

Good question. Being both "big" and "tall" actually makes me a stand out amongst more people in general, so I guess just knowing all eyes are on you at all times is probably one of my favorite parts.

What is the hardest part of being big and/or tall?

Finding the right cut and length on clothing and also the selection of brands. Unlike the plus size women, big and tall men only have a few brands that are really dedicated to us. Do not get me wrong, I value those brands dearly....but who doesn't love options? People are making moves though, so it’s going to be pretty interesting to see where big and tall clothing lines are 5 or more years from now.

If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Probably an oversized tank top, gym shorts, and flip flops. (I am all about comfort.)

What is one fashion item every person should own?

A tape measure. I know that's an odd item to say, but with the new sizing charts used for "Big and Tall" men, my sizes fluctuate from site to site and store to store. So before I order or purchase anything online I pull out my handy dandy tape measure.

What are your go-to stores or sites for clothes?

DXL, MVP Collections, ASOS.

What do you wish retailers would do differently?

Add more color variation for big and tall men. I like having a splash factor in my outfits!

What does being “body positive” mean to you?

That’s simple: accepting who you are, no matter your shape and size. Being you in your own skin.

What is your biggest style regret?

Umm, I really don't have any. I feel as though every obstacle or failure I have gone against has taught me or molded me to where I am today. So I have no regrets.

Who are your style icons?

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Drake.

Who do you nominate to answer these questions next?

Cory Bennett, aka @CBBusyGrizzly
