I Accidentally Bought Skinny Jeans
I wear jeans 366 days a year. When I saw this embroidered pair from Ralph Lauren - at 30% off, too! - I had to have them. The only catch? They’re a skinny jean. The Ralph Lauren site describes them as “trim through the seat and the thigh with a gradually tapered leg from the knee down,’ but I can read between the lines - I know what that means.
I decided to risk it, and clicked “order” anyway. When they arrived, I put them on and walked around my apartment like a baby deer taking its first steps. They just might work. I thought the embroidery (little skull and crossbones) was too special to give up, so I kept them, wore them to work, and was deafened by the squeals of delight from my coworkers. Everyone was OBSESSED - not with the embroidery (ugh), but with the fit.
So, the lesson here? You think you know yourself but you don’t. Try something new. And just because you’re not skinny doesn’t mean your jeans can’t be.
Not into cutesy embroidery (What’s wrong with you!)? Below are some other non-embroidered skinny jeans that come in a nice array of sizes:
