Berkshire Botanical Garden
I’m an ideas guy. I love the idea of being a minimalist, but the truth is that I like abundance. I like the idea of going on a long, meditative walk in the woods, but the outdoors is so….hot. And full of bugs. That’s why I loved my visit to the Berkshire Botanical Garden so much: all the fun of nature but, like, perfectly curated. With walking paths. And a gift shop.
Located in the charming town of Stockbridge, the Garden is Goldilocks-sized: not too big, not too small. There were cute little areas to sit and contemplate, and there were several senior citizens (my target demographic!) sitting creating watercolors and sketches of the grounds.
Tickets were $7.50 per person (we went on a Saturday; Sundays and Mondays are free) and the Garden is doing timed admission due to COVID-19 so check out their site in advance of your visit. Though, I didn’t take my own advice and just showed up and they were perfectly accommodating.
My favorite? The fruit and vegetable garden. THAT’S what carrots look like?? And there’s such a thing as mini-watermelons???
If you’re in the Berkshires, make the time to stop by the garden and check it out!
