The Best Japanese Beauty Store Is In...New York
Before there was K-Beauty there was J-Beauty, and now there’s a new Japanese store in NYC that has it all, with prices ranging from cheap to Cle de Peau (which they carry, BTW).
Shibuyala recently opened in NYC at 37 St. Mark’s Place and it’s unreal. From the moment “iIrasshaimase” greets you as you walk through the door until the moment you leave, you feel like you’re transported to Japan. Though labels are in Japanese, the super friendly bi-lingual staff will help explain products to you. And the products! There’s makeup, skincare, baby care - all directly imported from Japan.
There’s brands you’ve heard of - Shiseido - and ones you may not have (Three) but there are so many things at Shibuyala that you just can’t find in the US (until now, I suppose). Did I mention there were men’s specific SK-II products???
What did I pick up?
Snow Beauty 2018 Powder - This $110 powder from Shiseido is meant to be worn 24 hours a day. During the day it’s a blurring finishing powder, at night it’s a skincare powder that brightens your complexion and locks in your other skincare products.
Missha cleansing wipes - Did I get these just because they had characters from The Line on them? Yes.
