Oh, hi.

Welcome to extraextrastyle, a place for big & tall guys like me to celebrate their love for fashion - and themselves.

10 Questions With: Big & Tall Influencer Darnel Ghramm

10 Questions With: Big & Tall Influencer Darnel Ghramm

Darnel Ghramm is, among other things, cool. He is cool in a way that I will never be, no matter how many denim-on-denim ensembles I put together, how much Supreme-wearing youths I study on the sidewalk, or how much I glare angrily into a camera. What can I say? You can take the prepster out of Massachusetts, but you can’t take the Massachusetts out of the prepster.

I sat down with Darnel to discuss, well, HIM to see what I could steal. I mean, learn.

What is your favorite part of being big and/or tall?

My favorite part of being a bigger guy is that you can’t miss me! Style and size, whether big, tall, or both, are hard to miss.

What is the hardest part of being big and/or tall?

The hardest part of being big and/or tall for me has to be finding main stream fashion pieces that are larger than an XL/XXL or pants in a 38w or bigger with good fit.

If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?

One outfit for the rest of my life, it would probably be my black hat, black blazer, a cream color Gucci hoodie, black tapered jeans and my black and white checkered Vans or maybe some Gucci hiking boots.

What is one fashion item every person should own?

I would say every person should own a handmade hat or shoe. There’s something about a handmade classic piece. Knowing it was crafted by hand just for you. I don’t know, you’d have to wear it in order to understand what I mean.

What are your go-to stores or sites for clothes?

Go-to stores or sites for clothes would be Asos, Primark, Boohoo, H&M, Good Counsel, Mr Porter, Gorshin Trading Post and thrift shopping.

What do you wish retailers would do differently?

I wish retailers would see big and tall men & woman as equals to their smaller counterparts. We love fashion and love to dress just the same as everyone else, but sometimes we feel like we’re limited.

What does being “body positive” mean to you?

Body positivity to me is all about being you and loving it. Expressing who you are regardless of standards. Being free in your own lane.

What is your biggest style regret?

Honestly, I really don’t have any style regrets. Style is all about expressing who you are regardless of what people think. Your fashion choices will look different throughout the years and your style may evolve too. It’s all good!

Who are your style icons?

Virgil Abloh, Jerry Lorenzo, Dapper Dan & Alexander McQueen just to name a few.

Who do you nominate to answer these questions next?
